Policies/Fees
LOCATION
Lessons will be taught in the Jones home located on the east side of
Columbia near the intersection of I-70 and Highway 63.
FEES
| Interview/First Lesson | $15 |
| Half-hour weekly lesson | $30 ($120 per month) |
| Full-hour weekly lesson | $45 ($180 per month) |
| *Short-term students, if not studying weekly | $30 per half hour |
 | * Short-term sessions are to prepare a singer for a special event: wedding soloist, role in a staged musical, preparation for a college entrance audition, State Music Festival, etc. Nancy can coach correct pronunciation in Italian, French, German, and Latin - as well as American English!! |

Cash is accepted. Checks should be made payable to Nancy Jones.
The student will purchase music used in lessons, as assigned by the teacher.
Additional costs may be incurred for students who choose to perform. These may include, but not be limited to: accompanist, Master Class fee, rental of facilities, reception expenses, printing of programs, and invitations.
ABSENCE POLICY
Nancy expects advance notification when a student cannot come at the scheduled time.
If she is not notified by 9:00 p.m. the night before the scheduled lesson, the regular fee will be charged.
MAKE-UP LESSONS
When Nancy receives timely notification that a scheduled lesson will be missed, the lesson will be made up as time allows, at a mutually agreeable time.
EXPECTATIONS
- Nancy will interview each person before lessons begin. The interview will be getting acquainted, learning about the singer's musical background, establishing individual goals, and choosing songs. There is a $15 fee for the interview session.
- The student will prepare both vocalises and songs for each lesson.
- In order to make progress, the student should have a keyboard at home.
- Students will learn pitches and rhythms before coming to a lesson, though Nancy will give instruction on how to achieve that.
- Successful students will have sung previously, in a choral group or as a soloist.
- Learning to sing is a commitment to improve. Nancy will expect a student enrolling for weekly lessons to commit to a minimum of four months of study.
- If a student chooses to stop taking lessons, a month's notice should be given to the teacher. The month's payment will be due in full.
- When a student is requested to sing in public, the music must be rehearsed in the studio. When you study in the Nancy Jones Vocal Studio, you carry Nancy's reputation with you whenever you sing. Both student and teacher want the result to be satisfying!
