I'm not talking about employee benefits here! There are intangible benefits from taking voice lessons. Let's think about those.
When you study singing, you receive boundless benefits. There is a life-long benefit as you develop a deeper appreciation for vocal music, both solo and choral. There are vocal benefits in singing technique such as: vocal health, longevity, and improved musicianship. You will sing more easily. Most students will experience improved diction, expanded vocal range, projection, breath management, and consistency. People will understand your words and you can be heard at the back of the room.
You will explore vocal solos through varying styles and musical periods, finding the gifts in your own individual singing voice. We will build a student-teacher relationship which encourages musical self-confidence. You will increase interpretive skills based on the union of words and music.
During voice lessons you learn a mental focus on vocal production and making music. You choose to spend that time unrelated to other daily responsibilities. There is a sense of both being challenged and being rewarded as you and the teacher work toward mutual goals. I encourage you to list your personal goals as we begin to work together.
